Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Greeting

Thanksgiving is among my favorite holidays. It’s a time we’re all forced to slow down a bit, and whether voluntary or involuntary we’re moved to reflect on thankfulness. Like everything else in life, it’s about perspective.

“I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet” by Helen Keller.

What a blessing to truly be content within oneself. Even if we’re fortunate enough to have gotten a good dose of it at Thanksgiving, so easily we lose that momentum. Human nature is to not know what we have till it’s gone…. health, family & friends, the ability to shelter and feed our families, simple pleasures in spending time with loved ones, etc.

This year, my hope for all of us is that we’ll look at the sore spot in our lives, the real thorn in our side that often robs us like a pick pocket, and turn it into a reason of thankfulness, Helen Keller style.

Happy Thanksgiving! I thank you so much for your patronage of this site. Here’s to best wishes for a joy filled holiday season and a year of priceless contentment all year long.

Dinner Conversation

What to strike up some dinner conversation with guests? Use the secret of John C. Maxwell. Ask questions. Here are a few that he just provided his readers.

  1. What’s your favorite Thanksgiving or holiday memory?

  2. If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?

  3. What’s the best gift you ever received?

  4. What’s the best advice you have ever received?

  5. What’s the best book you’ve read and what makes it special?

  6. Share about a time you had a need. How was it met?

  7. If you could meet your great great grandchildren what wisdom would you pass on to them? What would you want them to know?

  8. If you could spend one day doing a job that you are not currently doing, what would you do?

  9. What’s one thing that you would love to do in your lifetime that no one knows?

Thanks John for these great open ended questions that will lead to interesting dinner conversations.

Currently working in healthcare as the VP of Facilities Development for a large long term care facility in northern New Jersey. Recently became certified by John Maxwell to coach, train, and speak using his material. This has led to working with individuals and organizations wanting to raise their level of leadership and over all performance. Finding that to be a real passion, the blog / web site has become a platform to share thoughts and resources that have been found to be helpful.
